If You Can Tinder You Can Trello

GQ’s Emily Witt said this about Tinder:

Then along came Tinder, the dating-hookup hybrid that made things simpler, sexier, and particularly lady-friendly.

That’s how we feel about Trello. Because if you can swipe to the right, you can move a card on Trello.

Trello is a productivity and project management app that’s been around for a long time. It has a 97% user satisfaction rating and 9.5 from Finances Online but does it work awesomely on the go?

Here’s the Work Mobly review of the Trello productivity app:

Trello’s Sales Pitch:

From Trello:

A Trello board is a list of lists, filled with cards, used by you and your team. It’s a lot more than that, though. Trello has everything you need to organize projects of any size.

The Mobility Factor

Is it mobile friendly?

The Trello app works on any sized screen and has apps for iPhone, iPad, Android phones, tablets, watches, and Kindle Fire tablets.

Key Features:

What can it do for me?

  • Invite as many people to your board as you need (excellent team collaboration tool)
  • Start a discussion with comments and attachments
  • Get notified instantly when something important happens (directly from your app)
  • You can easily make checklists and due dates
  • Use teams to keep everyone connected
  • Has a search and filter option

Trello also has power-ups which they describe as “the way to bring additional features and integrate your favorite apps right into Trello. Power-Ups turn Trello boards into living applications. Through adaptable features and integrations, Power-Ups help teams use Trello to meet their unique business needs.”

In non-geek terms, this means that Trello works with other apps like  Slack, Evernote, GitHub, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Twitter. You can check out the complete list here: Power-Ups

Tech Savvy But Not a Wizard

What’s the learning curve?

It’s super-easy to learn. They also have informative YouTube videos and webinars that explain what’s new, how to use boards, and demo power-ups.

Here’s a recent webinar called Introducing: Power Ups For All!

The learning curve is very easy. Trello heavily relies on visualization, so it’s easy to create a working board that has all the parts you need. It doesn’t take weeks to master. Watch a few videos, set up your boards, try it to see if it works, then change what doesn’t. There’s also a Trello Help with various how-to articles and you can also contact tech support.

The Ouch Factor

How much does it cost?

Trello’s free option is great for most users. However, they do offer Trello Gold for $5 per month or $45 per year. This upgrade’s best feature is the ability to upload files up to 250 megabytes in size.

The Bottom Line

Trello is consistently rated as one of the best productivity apps on the market for a good reason. It has a long track record, it’s easy to use, has a free option, and it’s mobile.

If you want something to help you keep track of your life and business on the go, Trello is simple to use but not simplistic. It has all the features you need to run your business from your smartphone.

Our bottom line: Maybe it can’t get you a hot date like Tinder, but Trello will help you save time. Which you can spend finding that special someone on Tinder.

It’s a win-win.
